Violinist BoYun Li (boyunliviolin.com) is quickly building an international reputation as a rising young soloist.

Born in Sichuan, China, BoYun began taking violin lessons when she was five years old. Two years later, she won her first national prize in China.

In junior high, she was admitted to the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and studied there for six years.

After her graduation from the Sichuan Conservatory in 2012,  she was accepted to study with Kurt Sassmannshaus at The Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, CCM.

BoYun graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from CCM in Violin Performance in 2016 and her Master of Arts from CCM in Violin Performance in 2018.

Currently BoYun is a DMA candidate at CCM.

She is also a teacher in CCM Preparatory Department and a Graduate Assistant of Kurt Sassmannshaus, assisting him in teaching students in the Starling program. 

As an active international performer, BoYun continues to perform throughout the United States and also in Europe and Asia.

BoYun has performed with pianist Rohan De Silva in China, Germany and the US, and she played in Kurt Sassmannshaus and His Friends concerts worldwide in 2015-2016. 

BoYun has participated in several master classes, including those with Professor, Nachum Erlich, Maxim Vengerov, Giora Schmidt Karen Gomyo and Anne-Sophie Mutter. 

BoYun has won many notable awards in her musical career.  She won both the chamber and solo competition of the Great Wall International Music Academy in 2014.  She won the Award of Excellence in Alice & Eleonore Schönfeld International String Competition in 2016, and she was also the first prize winner of Three Arts Competition in 2016. In 2020, She won the first prize in King’s Peak International Music Competition, and the Finalist in Piazzolla International Competition in 2021.
