Dan Stenger
Trombone Instructor
Mr. Stenger attended NKU majoring in music education and attaining a BMEd. He also holds a Master of Arts degree and a Rank I in Administration. Upon graduation, he taught band and chorus at Purcell Marian High School and in 1985 took over as the band director at Walton-Verona Jr. Sr. High School. In 1997, he became the Director of Technology for the Walton-Verona Schools and worked in that capacity until his retirement in 2016. Mr. Stenger is currently a freelance musician and instructor. He performs with the renowned Cincinnati Wind Band and is principal trombonist of The River’s Edge Brass Band. He is a performing member of the Bones of Cincinnatus, a society that promotes trombone music and performs around the Greater Cincinnati area. He is currently a member of the Swingtime Big Band and lead trombonist of the Retired Educators Big Band. He also performs with the Monday Night, Jumping Jive, Maple Knoll, and other big bands. Mr. Stenger is an Adjunct Instructor at Mount Saint Joseph University teaching applied trombone. He also teaches trombone group instruction at Camp Ernst Middle School and works with low brass at area high and middle schools. Mr. Stenger is the new trombone instructor here at Immanuel.
