Patsy Meyer is a new teaching artist on the Immanuel School of Music roster. She is currently also an “Artist on Tour” for the Cincinnati Arts Association providing a wide variety of classes including: Artz Smartz Music Adventures for Preschool to 2nd grade, World Percussion and Drum Circle Adventures. Her goal is to bring the physical, cognitive, social and emotional benefits of music to children.
Patsy’s former Teaching Artist position was for the Los Angeles Pacific Arts Center for whom she developed curriculum and taught music education to students in many schools in the LA area. In 2009 she co-founded New Life Rhythms, providing opportunities to nurture creativity, build community, and promote wellness for all ages using a facilitated drum circle format.
Meyer is an Emmy nominated singer/songwriter, percussionist, recording artist, Remo HealthRhythms trained drum circle facilitator, and music educator. She has three Emmy nominations in the Best Original Song category and more than 80 of her original songs have graced television. As vocalist/percussionist, she’s toured with Grammy award winners Patti Austin, Peabo Bryson, Jeff Lorber and Norman Brown in major venues around the country including LA’s own Hollywood Bowl.
She appears as vocalist and world percussionist in various area groups and venues, as a guest percussionist for Virtuosos de Cámara chamber music ensemble. and as a member of her church choir.
