Immanuel Church

Paul Yoshida was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  At the age of 3, he moved to Japan with his family where his parents work as missionaries.  While attending the local public school, he began playing the violin at age seven.  He studied with various violinists, including Professor Chikashi Tanaka (Professor Emeritus, Geidai University of the Arts and former concertmaster of the NHK Symphony Orchestra).  After turning 18, Paul returned to the United States where he majored in Violin Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), earning the degrees of Bachelor of Music (2005) and Master of Music (2008).  While at CCM, he studied with Professor Kurt Sassmannshaus, Dr. Won-Bin Yim, and Dr. Piotr Milewski.  He has also trained and performed at summer programs such as the Aspen Music Festival and School, and Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Paul has played with various orchestras in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia.  Since graduating from CCM, he has chosen to remain in Cincinnati where he is a founding member of the Windridge String Quartet and the Areopagus Quartet.   He also performs regularly at local churches and other concert venues.     

Paul has been teaching privately in the greater Cincinnati area since 2002.  He teaches all levels from beginning to college.  He is especially known for his precise instruction in technique and detailed lessons tailored to each student.  

Paul currently resides in Fort Wright, Kentucky with his wife and two children.
