ALUMNI Fundraising Campaign - 2024

Dear ISM Alumni, Families, and Friends,

I have had the honor of serving our community for over 14 years at the Immanuel School of Music. Creating special music, beautiful moments, and unforgettable memories with each student has completely blessed my life. I am writing to you today to ask for your support as an alumni and supporter of ISM.

ISM’s journey continues, and many students are yet to embark on their own path of special moments and memories. There are several exciting projects, equipment needs, and scholarships that are eagerly awaiting to be fulfilled. If ISM has enriched your life and that of your family, your support today will shape the opportunities for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year, filling it with promise and potential.

Most Sincere,

Ellen Stephens, ISM Director

How can you support ISM?

  • OUR VISION: Music is one of the greatest gifts given to humanity.  Music is highly valued at the Immanuel Church.  As stewards of the gift of music, Immanuel School of Music (ISM) strives towards excellence in music education as a means of engaging and showing hospitality to our broader community.    Through our highly qualified educators, ISM provides exemplary private and group instruction in a safe, family-oriented and nurturing environment.  Beyond the scope of music making, ISM hopes to foster the next generation of upstanding citizens by creating space for parents, educators, and church leaders to focus on enriching the lives of students through the unifying pursuit of music making.

A Snapshot of ISM: Created in 2010, we serve almost 600 tri-state area families in variety of demographics. We offer 6 levels of orchestra from beginner thru High School, private and group lessons, educational school demonstrations & performance, community concerts, recitals and performance opportunities. Our teaching faculty boasts over 25 professional musicians, all with university degrees in their discipline.

OUR MISSION: The Immanuel School of Music strives to provide the highest quality of instruction as well as providing a loving and caring environment for each student and their family. We strive to develop students with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others. We stress the total development of each person: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.

    Non-Profit:

ISM is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, # 92-3595764. All donations go toward ensuring the stability of the Immanuel School of Music by providing scholarships, covering venue rental fees, and subsidizing the educational opportunities and educational outreach that we provide to our students and community. FUTURE GIFTS OPPORTUNITIES

    Bequests (Wills or Trusts)

Leave a gift to the ISM in your will or estate plan. This distribution will be fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes. There is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim. Moreover, the gift is usually exempt from state inheritance taxes.

    Revocable Living Trust

A revocable living trust defines how your assets are to be distributed at the end of your lifetime. Retain control of the assets during your life, and can amend or change the trust at any time. Income earned by the trust’s assets goes to you and is taxable, but the assets themselves do not transfer from the trust to the ISM and other beneficiaries until the end of your lifetime. Once your assets belong to the trust, they do not have to go through the probate process upon your death.

    Life Insurance

Name the ISM as the new beneficiary, make a gift through an existing policy, or make a gift of a new policy.

When the original purpose for a life insurance policy no longer applies, you can use it to support the ISM.

    Retirement Plan Assets

Retirement plan assets are a great way to support the ISM; they not only help support our future operations, but also can provide tax relief for your loved ones. Money in your employee retirement plan, IRA, or tax-sheltered annuity has yet to be taxed, which means your beneficiaries will owe federal income tax on any distributions they receive from these accounts.

Consider directing your retirement plan assets to the ISM and leaving your loved ones assets that will be taxed less heavily. As a nonprofit institution, the ISM is tax-exempt and will receive the full amount of what you designate to us.
