What are Mozart’s Mission & Goals? Mozart Strings is an Immanuel School of Music outreach program to area schools, which at present time, have no active strings program. Our goal is to teach your child(ren) music and string instruments and important values including individual discipline, creativity and teamwork.
Do you use a curriculum? YES. We developed a two-semester sequential curriculum and offer workshops, supplemental practice videos, & music reading tools to enhance the overall musical experience.
May Homeschool students participate? YES! Tuesday Lakeside Mozart is designed for homeschool families and students who cannot attend their school’s designated day/time, and schools who do not currently offer Mozart Strings.
How often should I expect teacher communication? Mozart teachers send weekly emails which include practice materials, class reminders, and concert information.
After Mozart? My child completed Mozart Strings. What’s next? All students who complete Mozart Strings are now part of Beethoven Strings (level 2). Immanuel School of Music has six levels of orchestras, summers programs, private lessons, and chamber ensemble opportunities. Immanuel School of Music promotes musical growth for all ages.
My instrument or bow needs a repair, what should I do? First, reach out to your child’s Mozart Teacher. All Mozart Teachers can quickly assess if they can assist or if the instrument may need to be swapped for a different instrument. Larger repairs are taken care of by Baroque Violin Shop which are covered under the BVS rental program’s free maintenance and replacement coverage.
I have conflicts with all Fall Parent Meetings. May my child still be part of Mozart Strings? YES! You may sign up for Mozart Strings online & contact Baroque Violin Shop directly to rent your instrument. All parents who register for class will also receive an email of materials covered at the parent meeting including: handouts and meeting videos. Note: BVS is a separate company then ISM.
Would it be possible to only do Spring Semester? Mozart Strings curriculum builds upon itself. Spring semester is an extension of the Fall semester. One option: If your schedule allows, you can start in the Fall semester and attend as many weekly sessions as possible for your family. Then, in the Spring semester, attend on a regular basis.
I would like to continue with Mozart Strings in the Spring. I signed up for the BVS monthly or year rental. Do I still need to complete the Mozart Spring Registration Form? YES. Families will need to register & Pay Tuition for each term with ISM. Registration is due prior to the start of the first class.
BVS's monthly & yearly instrument rental is directly through Baroque Violin Shop. If you have signed up for rental for the month or year - no further action is needed with BVS. For instrument rental contract questions – contact BVS.
Questions regarding your instrument rental, credit balance, or making an instrument rental payment? Contact Baroque Violin Shop directly.
Does the Mozart Spring Term cover new material? YES! Our Spring Term covers new material as it is a continuation of the Fall Term. Like an academic class at school, each session builds up itself with new musical skills and the introduction of new songs.
We have a conflict in the Spring. What are my options to continue my child’s music studies at ISM? One option is to join our Tuesday 5:00-6:00 pm Lakeside Class. Reach out to us directly as well. Depending on your location, you may be able to attend an alternate location.
If your child has a conflict or decides to discontinue Mozart Strings, but enjoys playing their instrument (or would like to try a new instrument), you may enjoy Private Lessons or a Discovery Package as an option. Summer Session, too, is a great time to continue your child’s musical growth. We are happy to discuss this option with you further should you be interested.
My child completed Fall Mozart this last semester. They are wanting to try a different string instrument for this upcoming semester. Is that an option? Yes, your child can switch (to violin, viola, cello or bass) for Spring Session, however, you will want to sign up for a few private lessons to catch up and of course swap out the instrument at Baroque. You can sign up for a trial pack of 4 lessons and hopefully get those scheduled for January.
Contact us if that sounds good to you, and we will get you connected with a teacher to set up a time.
What are my music options at ISM if my child does not participate in Mozart Strings 2nd term as they continue their musical journey? If your child enjoys playing their instrument or would like to try a new instrument, you may enjoy Private Lessons or a Discovery Package as an option. We are happy to discuss this with you further.
Looking ahead to Summer, what are my options for continuing music after completing Mozart Strings? Summer Session offers Summer Strings Club. Summer Strings Club is for students who have completed Mozart Strings, Beethoven Strings, Bartel String Ensemble, or 1-3 years of private lessons. No audition is required. Approximately 3rd-6th grade. Fun weekly activities: Orchestra, sectionals, special workshops, and spirit wear contests. Students attend the weeks that work with their family schedule.
How may I secure a FAST PASS for Parent Meetings? Families who register by 4pm the day of the meeting will receive an emailed FAST PASS to bypass registration and go directly to the Instrument Rental Stations.
Registration & Dreamclass Assistance: I need assistance with registration and/or Dreamclass- whom should I contact? ismoffice@immanuel-nky.org
Email Assistance: I am not receiving weekly Mozart emails - whom do I contact? ismoffice@immanuel-nky.org and the Education Director
