Summer Adult Guitar & Fretted Friends
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00pm

Bring your favorite fretted instrument (Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo and/or Mandolin)

This class will focus on:

Chords and rhythm techniques for beginner to intermediate level players. The students will start with basic open chords and strumming patterns.
The class will advance through barre chords and more hip chords like 7ths and 6th chords.
Students will even learn inversions and finding the chords up and down the guitar fretboard.
The class will also cover rhythms in different styles, such as folk, blues, R&B, and Rock.

Summer Student Guitar & Fretted Friends
Thursdays, 6:00-7:00pm

Bring your favorite fretted instrument (Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo and/or Mandolin)

This class will focus on:

The 3 building blocks of music: Rhythm, Harmony, and Melody and how they are used to play songs.

We will learn how to make chords, how to strum basic rhythms, and how to use scales to make melodies.
Students will learn how to play with others as a group.
Students will learn to read the different forms of music notation common for fretted instruments, such as standard notation, chord charts, and tablature.
We will also learn common styles of music like rock, pop, and classical.

Attendance:

We understand that students may miss a class or two due to family vacations, other activities, etc. Students are still encouraged to participate in the classes.
